Dale Association

Description:

The Dale Association is a not-for-profit organization providing an umbrella of human services for adults of all ages. Each service has the goal of enhancing the quality of life for people. The Dale Association helps people maintain the independence they want. Today we are still making lives better as a comprehensive human services organization with programs for adults of all ages and from all walks of life. Our current umbrella of services include:

- Supportive Services for the Elderly
- Community Outreach
- Enrichment and Travel
- Mental Health Programs

The Dale Association`s caring and professional staff members and volunteers make it possible for us to deliver a variety of services that have a positive effect on the lives of those adults who live in our community.

Peer Specialist
The Dale Association`s Peer Specialist Program is for adults, age 18 and older, living in Niagara County and in the process of seeking therapeutic services. The Peer Specialist provides assistance to individuals with mental health issues. The program will assist them in their own recovery process.

PROS Center for Wellness
PROS Center for Wellness is a comprehensive, recovery-oriented program for individuals who are 18 years and older with mental health conditions.

Caregiver's Support Group
30% of the adults in the U.S. will help care for an adult family member in their lifetime. Caregivers may be adult children, spouses, relatives, neighbors or friends. The Dale Association recognizes the challenges and joys associated with care giving. You are not alone!

We offer the following support services:
- Powerful Tools for Caregivers
- Senior Counselor/Advocacy
- Transitions of Care
- Early Memory Loss Program
- C.A.R.E.: Telephone Reassurance

Memory Minders: The Memory Minders program works with individuals suffering with early onset memory loss. The program is designed to slow down the progression of memory loss with brain stimulation and socialization programming. Participants enjoy fun activities including word puzzles, trivia, special themed days, and music, exercise and art projects. Our trained volunteers work one on one with participants. Classes meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am-2pm at the Senior Centre. Transportation locally can be arranged if needed.

C.A.R.E: Call And Reassure Elders (C.A.R.E.), is a free telephone reassurance program for Niagara County residents. A trained volunteer will give wellness checks by phone call on a regularly scheduled basis to seniors who are in need of someone to touch base with them to ensure their well-being and/or to have a friendly conversation. C.A.R.E. is not a referral service or medical alert service.

Individuals may self-refer or be referred by a caregiver, family member, or service provider. C.A.R.E. is intended to serve Niagara County, NY seniors or disabled adults who are home-bound, isolated, living alone, or in need of daily contact to ensure personal safety. This may be temporary while recuperating from an illness or it may be a permanent situation. Married couples who are home-bound are eligible for C.A.R.E.
