Established in 1824, The Town of Lockport is located in the south-center of Niagara County, in Western New York. The Town of Lockport surrounds the City of Lockport. With a population of 20,027 and 45 square miles, the Town encompasses the Niagara Escarpment, the Historic Erie Canal, rural farm land and the vibrant Transit North retail corridor. Its population and residential property growth have continued a pattern of steady increase over the past few decades. Lockport is a town which has planned and channeled its growth wisely.

The Town of Lockport maintains a progressive outlook and a business-friendly culture. For retail businesses Transit North is an active, ever increasing corridor, and for industry the Town of Lockport maintains the Lockport Industrial Park.

The Town of Lockport’s Recreation Commission is community oriented, providing a variety of opportunities throughout the year for youth and families to enjoy events together at a reduced cost or no charge. The Commission also regularly promotes events held by community partners and sponsors the annual Outstanding Youth Award program.
