Lockport Cares

Description:

An emergency homeless shelter serving the needs of the greater part of Niagara County and beyond.

The shelter is located at 188 Genesee Street, which is right near Locust Street and is conveniently located near downtown Lockport. We do not accept guests at the shelter unless they have been pre-admitted through our intake. If you are in need of our services, call our intake line and 716-939-9826 before visiting the shelter.

Our Services:
- Emergency shelter for up to 10 consecutive business days (not including holidays & weekends)
- Small, comfortable rooms
- A maximum of only one or two other roommates
- Safe, secure, drug/alcohol/violence-free environment
- Homemade breakfast and dinner
- Packed lunches
- Full laundry service (we do it for you!)
- Shower/bathroom with provided personal care kits
- Television/DVD viewing space
- Play area for children (shelter at 192 only)
- Patio and picnic space
- GOD`s WORD

There are a wide variety of volunteer opportunities at Lockport CARES. This includes cooking, cleaning, staffing the shelter and grounds keeping and maintenance. And of course, we always need people who are willing to pray! All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Younger people may assist but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
