YWCA is the catalyst for change in the lives of those who need it most. Through our services in gender equality, education, crisis services, childcare, and more, the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier creates a strong support team giving women and their families the resources they need to lead the lives they deserve.

Services Provided:

An Emergency Safe House – Secure & confidential location for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. If you are experiencing domestic violence in your relationship and need a safe, confidential place for you and your children to stay, please call our 24-7 hotline at 716-433-6716.

Emergency Hotline – 716-433-6716 - trained staff available 24-7 to offer emotional support, connect the caller with counseling, provide information about DV & Sexual assault, as well as make referrals to other resources.

Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Counseling Service – Individual counseling provided for free to women and men who have experienced any type of abuse.

Support Groups - The YWCA of the Niagara Frontier offers support groups for individuals who have experienced abuse in their relationships. The YWCA offers a safe place for survivors to get together and to share, learn from each other, and support each other in the healing process. There is a babysitter on hand for any moms who have kids under the age of 4 who want to attend the DV Support Group.

"Kidstrong" is also available at the same time - Mondays 6-7:30pm to support children ages 4-12 years old who have experienced family violence. Please call ahead to be screened for either group at 433-6714.

Connextions – Supervised visitation program for non-custodial parents


Transitional Housing – Affordable housing for women and children in Niagara County that are leaving a domestic violence living situation

Community Outreach Program – For all age levels. Material focuses on prevention and response of dating violence, domestic violence, and sexual assault.

Before and After School: YWCA of the Niagara Frontier's before and after school care programs provide children with a safe place to stay before and after school hours. Programs consist of homework assistance, recreation, arts and crafts, and community service activities for middle and intermediate students; and fun learning activities, staff directed homework assistance, and quiet reading time for children in grades K-4. Daily snacks are provided with all programs.

Summer Day Camp:
The YWCA of the Niagara Frontier’s Summer Day Camp is open to girls and boys ages 5-12 years old. Our camp will run 6 week long sessions starting on July 1st – August 9th, 2024. Part-time is available. Our staff has integrated themes which incorporate arts and crafts, sports and recreation, dramatic arts and hands-on activities. Theme: SUMMER REUNION FUN

Date/Times: July 1st – August 9th, Monday-Friday; 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Includes breakfast, lunch, snack, t-shirt and field trips.

Full time: 3-5 days is $210.00 per week Part Time: 1-2 days is $110.00 per week
REGISTRATION

Children must have completed Kindergarten. You may register your child for any number of weeks. Schedule changes may be made until Thursday, June 13th. After June 13th, you will be financially responsible for all registered weeks. Additional weeks will only be permitted if space is available.

Kindergarten Readiness Day Camp:
The YWCA of the Niagara Frontier is excited to offer a FREE Kindergarten Readiness Day Camp for children entering Kindergarten in the Lockport City School District. Our camp will feature six week-long sessions, running from July 7th to August 15th, 2025. The program includes a mandatory Readiness Class from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by an optional Readiness Camp from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Space is limited, so be sure to register today to secure your child’s spot!
