Program Summary
- The YMS mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of children and youth primarily through a relationship with a caring adult, and to assist them in achieving their highest potential as they grow to become productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

- YMS addresses the needs of children and youth (ages 7-19) by providing activities and other resources.

- Site Based Mentoring- for children ages 6-16 in groups across Niagara County.

- High Five for children ages 7-11, youth engage interactive workshops focused on social emotional learning. We make learning fun by playing games, undertaking projects that inspire creativity, while connecting children to their community.

- Game of Life for children ages 12 and up uses games and other activities to teach life skills.

Summer Program:
- Are you looking a fun, safe, and enriching place for your child to spend their time this summer? Youth Mentoring Services hosts a free (11:00am-3:00pm) summer program for youth ages 7-11. The program runs 5 days per week for 8.5 weeks. The program is a combination of structured activities around a common theme and free time.

Theme for Summer 2024: Go for the Gold (Summer Olympics)

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is the focus for this program. This program also offers wrap around child care for a nominal fee.

Program provides:
- Free lunch
- Interactive workshops on topics such as personal empowerment, anger management, social skills, literacy, team building, and how to be healthy
- Outdoor games, crafts, and activities
- Prizes and give-aways
- Socialization with peers under the guidance of trained staff

Registration for program is required. *Registration does not guarantee a spot for your child(ren). Applications can be found on the Youth Mentoring Services website.

Junior Leader Program
YMS offers a Junior Leader program within their Summer Adventures program. Youth in grades 7-12 may apply for the position. Junior Leaders work on a variety of skills throughout the summer, including: leadership, responsibility, communication and patience. These skills are learned not only through real life experience, but they are reinforced in weekly Game of Life Sessions (SEL for teens). Junior Leaders are expected to be exceptional role models!

Lockport Spokes; Youth Mentoring Services provides free after-school programming for teens 13-17 on Mondays from 2:45-4:15 at Kenan Center and every 2nd Thursday of the month at Lockport Housing Authority.
