Cornell Cooperative Extension

Description:

Cornell Cooperative Extension puts knowledge to work in pursuit of economic vitality, ecological sustainability and social well-being. We bring local experience and research based solutions together, helping New York State families and communities thrive in our rapidly changing world.

Volunteers are the heart of any organization and Cornell Cooperative Extension is no exception. We believe that everyone can help somewhere to make a difference for a community or in the life a child. Volunteers are a tremendous resource giving their skills and knowledge for the benefit of others in exchange for a thank you. If you have a talent or skill that you would like to share we would appreciate your help in our areas of need.

SNAP-Ed: Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County is a part a statewide program called SNAP-Ed. We help families with limited incomes to eat more fruits and vegetables, drink fewer sweetened beverages and practice healthy lifestyles.

SNAP-Ed Nutrition Education is free to all individuals who qualify for benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

You can learn more at www.SNAPEdNY.org.

4-H: 4-H is a worldwide youth development program available in every state and over eighty countries. It is open to all youth aged 5-to-19, who want to have fun, learn new skills, and explore the world. In return, youth who participate in 4-H find a supportive environment and opportunities for hands-on or "experiential" learning about things that interest them. They also get what all young people need to succeed in life--the confidence, compassion and connections with caring adults to make contributions to their communities. The mission of Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development is to unleash the power of youth and adults through diverse opportunities that meet community needs.
