Description:

The mission of the Niagara County Department of Health (NCDOH) is to provide leadership through community health assessment, assurance of the delivery of essential public health services, and policy development in accordance with public health law in order to ensure a healthy disease-free environment for the citizens of Niagara County.

Divisions of the Health Department:
Environmental Health - Enforces health and safety laws related to food, rabies, lead, drinking water, sewage, temporary residences, for example.

Nursing Services - Focuses on the investigation & control of communicable diseases, immunization clinics, and more!

Emergency Preparedness - Works towards a prepared, resilient community through planning, drills & exercises. Responds to Public Health Threats.

Children with Special Needs - Provides services for children with special health care needs.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS! Join our Medical Reserve Corps!
The Niagara County Medical Reserve Corps could be activated during an emergency. Medical and non-medical volunteers are engaged in community events, meetings, trainings, and exercises throughout the year.

Volunteers may assist with:
- Mass dispensing of medication/vaccination
- Sheltering
- Companion Animal Response Team
- Mass Casualty
- Radiological Response screening
- First Aid Stations at community events
- Health Screening clinics
